On October 30, the forum for Agricultural Extension @ agriculture on "Solutions to develop poultry production according to VietGAHP associated with product consumption links in the Red River Delta provinces" organized by the National Center for Agricultural Extension. held in Hai Phong, there were more than 200 delegates from agricultural extension centers and farmers in the provinces: Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc and Hai Phong. Mr. Pham Van Nhi, owner of a household raising chickens according to VietGAHP model in Hong Phong commune, An Duong district, Hai Phong, said that his family participated in the project "Building a model of raising commercial colored chickens in the direction of VietGAHP. associated with product consumption in some provinces of the Red River Delta” of the National Agricultural Extension Center in 2019 with a scale of 5,000 heads. From precarious and small livestock farming thanks to the project, in addition to being instructed in proper breeding techniques, the value of the product was increased, his family no longer worried about the output of the product.

“In the past, everyone was strong, production lacked concentration, lack of connectivity, small business, narrow scale. The consumption market is precarious, dependent on traders and often forced on prices. After participating in the project, we were connected with a business in the area, signed a contract to sell products with the selling price when the link will be equal to or higher than the market 500 VND / kg. We no longer worry about product output and rest assured to produce well,” said Mr. Nhi.

Ha Thuy Hanh, Deputy Director of the National Center for Agricultural Extension, said that the orientation of livestock production according to VietGAHP is very important to guide people not only to raise livestock according to the correct process, but also to ensure biosecurity. The most basic thing is to have livestock recording issues to ensure traceability.

“When people are interested in livestock, it brings better results. The first is livestock production to reduce disease, the second is VietGAHP certification, which brings value in the issue of product traceability. It is necessary to link between farmers to reduce input costs and to have outsourcing contracts with slaughtering and processing enterprises, creating sustainable value," said Ms. Hanh.
